White & Chrome Midcentury Dresser Makeover

A customer brought me this piece to paint last week.  She and her husband are planning to use it as a TV console in their new home.  After meeting her ( she wears vintage turquoise cat glasses ) and visiting with her about her style and design sense, I'd LOVE to see her home!!

Cobalt Blue and Gold Mid Century Dresser

I may have a new favorite color!  This deep saturated blue is amazing, especially on this mid century dresser.  The original gold bow tie hardware really pops off this color.  I made the art work too, had to use this blue in more than one place!

OOH LALA!!!

I used "Work of Art" by Clark + Kensington paint for this piece.  It covered beautifully!

This lovely thing is available today on my Etsy site, The Turquoise Iris.

Happy Wednesday!!

Modern and Feminine Dresser

Like cotton candy and gum drops, this dresser is surely to sweeten your taste buds! I've been craving pink and when a friend contacted me about this piece being for sale, I immediately snagged it.  I love the curve of the drawers and the all together modern design of this vintage dresser.

I highlighted all drawers with a light turquoise, replaced 4 of the bottom knobs with these modern glass ones from Anthropololgie and lined the drawers with fresh new pink polka dot paper.

Some of you may pucker your lips with more of a sour taste in your mouth, but that's okay.  Sweetness is sometimes hard. Enjoy your Tuesday!

Mid Century Dresser in Yellow & White

This is for all of my mid century friends.  I painted this in the perfect shade of yellow for a modern, clean and fresh look.  The chest in is near perfect vintage condition and solid wood.  I think I have a crush...

I simply cannot be pinned down to one design aesthetic.  I am eclectic, love all furniture styles and just love to paint. This chest is available on my Etsy shop, The Turquoise Iris.

Mid Century Modern Dresser, Color Blocked and Cool

MCM style dressers are super hard to come by these days! So, when I come across one, I jump at the chance to either paint or re-finish it. I chose to paint this one a gorgeous shade of blue and added the silver for a fun, mod, color block look. Oh my goodness...this one will be hard to let go of...I LOVE it!

I don't have a particular style or furniture design that I love the most.  I tend to fall for pieces that are just pretty...I like pretty.  That's why my home is such an eclectic  mix of old and new, shiny and dull.  I just like pretty:)

 ***BEFORE PHOTO***

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!! The sun has just shown it's cheery face, so I'm headed out!

***This piece is for sale HERE, on my Etsy shop, The Turquoise Iris.***

Mid Century Modern Dresser in Coral Red

I've always been in search of really cool textiles.  My all time favorite designer is Amy Butler. Her design aesthetic is absolutely what I would choose if I had her talent.
Sometimes, I paint pieces purely by how they make me feel. Such as, this piece I just finished.  I mixed 3 different Benjamin Moore colors to get just the shade of coral red I had in mind.

I applied this fun graphic paper to just two of the drawers.

Hope you enjoy this pop of color!  Heeeelloooo, Spring!  Bring it on;)

Mid Century Modern Yellow Dresser

I went back to my favorite shade of
sunshine yellow! It's bold, warm, and beautiful. Plus the exposed raw wood of the lower drawers adds charm to this existing mid century dresser.

In love with those knobs!!! Seriously....glass...cobalt blue...so pretty!

This dresser is ready to purchase

Here on Etsy.com.

Have a wonderful sunny day!

Mid Century Tuxedo Dresser With an Edge

The hardware on this dresser screamed, "Make me dramatic and pretty"! I listened and L-O-V-E this new crisp modern look of it.
Check it out!

This vintage dresser is the perfect size for any room and is so special with the glossy dark paint vs. the distressed white finish on the 4 drawers. The original brass hardware really pulls this piece together! And, we must not forget the pop of yellow hiding out on the drawers!

I have sanded, primed and painted this piece and it's now ready for you a new place to flaunt it's stuff. Use this in your bedroom, entry, foyer, dining room or even in a babies nursery. The dark color is the perfect shade...not quite black so it feels less stark against the white drawers.

Now....here's the "before" pics

Pretty rough, huh?

This dresser can be purchased

Have a wonderful day!
