I know it's bold, I know it's different and I know it's not for everyone.  But, I love it...Absolutely and completely.  And, if it doesn't sale, I get to keep it!!

I found this paper and knew this piece would be getting to know this print very well.  I love the insets with the gold trimmed pieces. It's a "One of a Kind" for sure.

Here is what the buffet looked like before I started the makeover.

I'll be sharing this before and after with Marion over at Miss Mustard Seed's Friday Furniture Features.

Vintage Red Buffet

This is a custom painted piece for The Lasley's.  They are currently building a new home and are hoping to add some color and charm to their new dining space.  This should do the trick.

I am always searching for a way to add an artistic punch to my furniture pieces.  The peacock paper on the inside here adds an unexpected element and completes the "one of a kind" look I'm always after.

Hope everyone enjoys this little furniture makeover as much as I have!

Rustic Modern Vintage Dresser

Ok friends! I just finished this heirloom dresser for the Votaw family. They will have a new addition to their family in January. The nursery is a rustic modern Navajo vibe. One wall of the room has the coolest wallpaper with rows of large arrows. ***We need your help though for pull ideas. The clients are trying out their DIY skills with some leather strap ones, but would LOVE to get any feedback with your ideas!! Enjoy!!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Turquoise French Bedroom Set

This bedroom set belonged to my client's grandmother. She wanted me to paint it for her 7 year old daughter's bedroom in their new home.  Miss Carsyn loves all things turquoise...think I got this one right;)

It is always such an honor when someone chooses me to paint furniture but even more so when it has been in the family for so many years.  Sweet Carsyn came over to me today with big squeezy hugs and said, "I love my furniture"!

I love me job!!

White & Blue Desk

I painted this desk for a sweet little girl's 10th birthday. Her parents wanted her to have a good place for her to do her homework. I hope this passes the test;)

Happy Sunday, friends!

Mint Green French Provincial Dresser

This piece was selected and painted for the Ratcliff's. It's for their little girl's room and will be combined with turquoise and raspberry. Seems I've been doing a lot of little girl dressers lately. Anyone else notice that? Hmmm...
Anyway, I always love this shade of mint green.  It's warm and happy and still very fresh looking.  Paired with this style, it's a statement piece for sure!

And, not to be forgotten this time;)Here's the before photo...

Turquoise Dresser with Houndstooth Drawers

I custom painted this piece for a special couple in Maryland. They are expecting their sweet baby girl in December!! I love their color choices with the houndstooth patten and my goodness...the yellow pop just screams happy. Jennifer, thank you for allowing me to paint this for your nursery:)

Here is what it looked like "before" the make over!  This is by far the "best looking before" I have ever painted:)

Have a beautiful weekend, my friends!

Oh, This Enormous Solid Wood Desk!

This was a beast of a desk, friends.  My sweet friend, Gina, found it a garage sale and asked me to paint it white for her.  She bought a new home and has gone back to school.  This piece gives her a perfect place to spread out and get some work done. I love the finished look!
I called her after I started painting it and asked if I could add a little "Dionne" to it:)  I could not resist painting those little feet a soft shade of turquoise and I added the knobs from Anthropologie. She was happy to let me as long as I didn't get too crazy!
She loves her new desk, too!  This piece will be around for another 60 years for sure.
Have a happy week, Everyone!

Herringbone Crush

Friends, if you haven't seen the Serena and Lily catalog, you must order one! They have beautiful home accessories and inspiring photography on their pages.  I chose this herringbone pattern after thumbing through the pages. I love textures and the patterns especially on bath towels and rugs. So, I had to give this a shot, my way off creating a fun modern look for this vintage Bassett Mid Century dresser.

This piece is for sale on my Etsy shop, The Turquoise Iris.

Rustic Charm in Blues

This old dresser has been in the same family for 40 years...made by my friend's grandfather...with love. I painted it this week and enjoyed every single minute of it! Hoping the family can enjoy it another 40 years. I decided to use nature as my back drop this time and again, my inspiration for the finish comes from the glorious pages of Anthrpologie's catalog:)

And the "before"...

Happy Weekend, Friends!

Vintage Armoire in Mint & Creme & Gold

I am giddy with delight here, Friends!!I finished painting this piece yesterday.  I had just as much fun styling it as I did painting it.

I found this hardware at Anthropologie recently and knew right away I had to use it on this piece and it needed to be mint! This is in excellent condition, solid wood and has plenty of available storage. The original details are outstanding,I just freshened it up, giving it a new life, don't you agree?

Happy, happy, happy weekend, Friends!
As always...thanks for letting me share my work...I have the best job;)
