So, we have been the proud owner's of a Doberman named, Abbie for two years now!
We love and adore her but this post is about "her room". Now that she is older and has stopped chewing on our woodwork, her room needed a little TLC.  She literally ate my wood windows and scraped up the concrete stained floors. Let me show you the "Before" pics...

All of our woodwork throughout the house is white.  Originally, I should have had the painter do a darker color on the mudroom but is was rush, rush! Meanwhile, the white has been torn to pieces and every scratch shows so I searched for a color to use that would greet us with a smile.  I chose Gypsy Teal by Valspar in a high gloss! Yep, high gloss for our woodwork! Call me crazy if ya wanna.  I absolutely L-O-V-E how it turned out.  This color with this shine has made the room look larger instead of smaller;)

Check it out...

$2.99 for the painting at Goodwill!
Looks perfect on the teal and the chevron next
to it make the painting look more modern and chic.

I took down the curtain panels and just decided to
hang roller shades.
I just used spray adhesive on the shades to attach
the yellow chevron.
So easy and simple!!!

Drama! Drama! Drama!
Really makes my subway tile pop out at you, too.

New hardware looks so much better than the
smaller bronze we had before.
Who knew a mudroom could be so sophisticated, right???
The floor is still not complete...give me a couple of weeks though, and I will share that as well.  Hope you enjoy the transformation.
I am certainly glad it's (mostly) over!

This piece of vintage Lane furniture was already great when I purchased it,
but it did need a new finish on the top.
So, I sanded, re-stained (look how well it matches)
and put a fresh coat of poly on to protect it
for many years to follow!

How many things could you use this for? The obvious..
.to hold your records, but for the rest of us who
don't have any, maybe a tv console? Let this fella
hold your movies, cd's, or books. Use as a side table,
entry table or an apartment size buffet.
Endless possibilities...really!!
Heavy solid wood construction.

This is available on HERE ON MY ETSY SHOP!

Stay in the a/c my friends!

What??? On HGTV???

Yep, I woke up this morning, checked my Etsy stats,
and here is what I found.  Not a biggie to most...
but H-U-G-E in my book!
Click the link below or www.marketplace.hgtv.com
One of my furniture pieces was selected as their favorite shopping items.  I believe I have Pinterest to thank for that.  Saturday, this same little table was on the front page of Etsy
for a very brief time, too!

This is so fun!
Thank you, HGTV!

Dead In My Tracks...

Did I make you raise your eyebrows? ;)
Let me make myself clear...sometimes a piece of furniture makes me stop, dead in my tracks!
This is why I love furniture, used, worn in furniture.  The kind that gets better with every passing year.
Although, this settee is actually in mint vintage condition, I know it sat for many years somewhere and showed off it's fabulous legs and arms!
See what I mean...

If your in love...hop on over to my Etsy shop
where this vintage mid century modern
settee is for sale.

Enjoy your summer evening!
