Copper Crushing on this Table

Copper is coming back in a HUGE way!  So, I started with it on this table.  The entire top is a metallic copper and fades in an ombre finish.   Next, is bronze. Then, gold and champagne. I had a copper patina look in mind when I chose these turquoise knobs.  I lined the drawers with some peacock paper.

The amazing Santa painting was painted by my brother in law.  He sells them in all colors.

"BEFORE"

I'm taking a break from painting over the holidays so I hope you all have a very merry holiday season!!

Ombre in Shades of Blue

I've never attempted an ombre finish before and this week I did two!  I had so much fun mixing 8 different colors to get these 5 I used here on this antique dresser.  I added the blue mercury glass knobs and I think they look like little jewels. Overall, this was one of my most fun pieces to ever paint. Hope you enjoy the "before and after".

My brother in law painted the large Santa painting for me last year.  Isn't it gorgeous?

Here is the dresser before I painted it...

I'll be linking this dresser makeover up to Miss Mustard's Friday Furniture Feature. Click the link and take a look at all the amazing makeovers!!

Happy Friday!

White Campaign Desk in Glossy White

This is it!  This is the one I'd keep if I needed a desk. I love the glossy white finish I used paired with the original black leather.

Since I forgot to post this lat week, it has actually sold already but I still wanted to share it.  This desk is headed to Scottsdale, AZ!  Can you say, "Jealous!!" I want to go too.

Oh, You Sexy Little Thing!

When the weather gets cold and cranky, I tend to paint less.  These last few weeks have been filled with the marketing of vintage furniture rather than painted pieces.  I love searching for cast offs that can be cleaned up and flipped on my Etsy.com shop, The Turquoise Iris

This little gem here, was once ( see before photo below ) tired and boring.  I didn't have to do much to it all. Then, BAM... it's al sophisticated in this black and white look.  I love how it turned out! Plus, it felt really great to have warm enough weather to get some painting done.

See that round one on the right? It will be next!

Hope you all enjoy your day!!

Blue Antique Secretary Desk

This piece was amazing to start with but it needed to be given a new look. I painted in this gorgeous color called Artistic Blue. I added the scene titled, "Summer Solstice", to the drawer fronts. The coral hiding inside will give it's owner a happy grin every time the top is pulled open.
Hardware is all new except the brass knob on top that pulls the door down.

I also have some good new to share!

My furniture will now be on display and available to purchase at Therapy Boutique - Paint. Sip. Shop.!!! This fun shop is located in Oklahoma City at 12325 N. May Ave. Come by soon...try on some clothes...do some Christmas shopping...and book a paint party while you're there!

If you're not already following me on Instagram, I'm @theturquoiseiris.  I post new pieces weekly and also furniture I have available for custom paint.

Thanks for reading and have a great Sunday! Hanging out at the Miss Mustard Seed Friday Furniture Feature

Animal Print Gone Golden Yellow

Let me introduce you to, Mrs. Wild at Heart, accompanied
 by Mr. Golden Splendor!

I am so thankful to Anthropologie for carrying such amazing hardware.  I always find the most unique pieces.  I love these, a little odd, a little unexpected.

I added this animal print to the drawer fronts.

Happy Weekend!!

Classic Blue and Creme Desk Makeover

I painted this desk for a friend's daughter.  She has a poster bed from Potterybarn in antique white with a patchwork quilt also from Potterybarn.  I think this desk will compliment her room perfectly!

I love this and I love reinventing a piece that is timeless.
Time to get this delivered!

Happy Tuesday, Friends!

Dresser Makeover Trash to Treasure Style

High Style Mid Century Modern!

I am so happy with this piece! It may have started out, ugly, dated and sooo tired but it turned out so very cool.

The gorgeous hardware is original to this piece.  I just sanded the nasty black paint off of it.

This piece evolved as I went.  It is NOT my original plan. So keep in mind...  this is so much harder than it looks! I really do love the end result, though.

Brace yourself...here is the "before" shot of this piece!!!

Hope you enjoy this makeover and have yourself a wonderful Saturday!!!

New Pieces in the Shop!

Sometimes, it's really to nice to find home accessories or accents that I love but don't really have the room for them. These two pieces are that, really special but I can't seem to make them work in our own home.  So, they are now listed for sale and looking for a home.  Have a look...

Amazing details!!

I love these bamboo nesting tables!

Both of these pieces are available now on my Etsy shop, The Turquoise Iris.
