Antique Buffet in Gray & Creme

This is very neutral for me to do, right?!?!
I've been wanting to try the Amy Howard Home paints from Ace Hardware. So, when I bought this buffet I knew this was just the right piece for her paint.  I love it and I think these colors are beautiful.

I had the best time staging this buffet, too!  I haven't even put everything back up yet.  I'm just enjoying it all for now.

It's freezing here in Oklahoma today!  Look, even my little statue friend needed a scarf!

Hope you all have  a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

French Country Cabinet Makeover

So, I saw an image on Pinterest of an amazing French Armoire, painted in various shades of colours. I pinned it and I've been waiting to find the best piece to try and mimic that look. Well, this antique cabinet had to be the one.  Any piece of furniture that's over 100 years old deserves some serious attention, don't you think?

I used five different colours to paint this cabinet.  Did I get it exactly like the one I pinned?? Nope, I didn't.  Do I love it anyway?  You bet I do!!!

Christmas time is so much fun to be staging photos, too.  I grabbed that fallen branch off the side of the road yesterday to use for photos! No shame it that at all;-)

BEFORE & AFTER

I hope you all are enjoying your holiday season!

Ombre' Buffet Makeover in All of My Favorites

So, I forgot to things this week! Both of which, made me so mad:-/
First, I realized two days after my weekly grocery shopping trip that I left the 24 pack of bottled water in the bottom of the cart.  Yep, I guess I left it for someone else to use...grrrr!
Second, I forgot to take a before photo of this buffet. This is not the first time this has happened and will not be the last.  It better be the last time I forget about the water bottles, though!
I was too excited to start painting this piece that I had it finished before I remembered.

These gorgeous knobs are Jadeite and gold and super gorgeous!

I love how this photo shows the colors fading so well. Three of the four are on walls in my own house!

Oklahoma suffered an ice storm 2 weeks ago and my brother in law grabbed me some fallen curly willow branches.  I love using them in photos and in our own home.

This piece is for sale on my Etsy shop, Here.

You guys have yourself a great week!  For now, I'm enjoying this 65 degree weather we are having this week! Woot!

Blue Mini Hutch Makeover

Isn't this the cutest cabinet you've ever seen?!?! It really was beautiful before but I love how paint and distressing helps to highlight the bones of this piece.

:: Before & After ::

This agate knob was my inspiration for choosing a color to paint this piece.  I mean...do you see all the variation in that knob? So gorgeous!!!!

I can see this piece being used in an entry way / foyer bur I'd love to see it as a mini bar. I've listed it on my Etsy shop, HERE

Thanks,

Staging for Photos and this Pink Petite Dresser

Anyone else LOVE staging their photos as much as they do painting? I definitely do. This is always my favorite work day - the one I reveal my newest makeover + stage and photograph the piece.

I went outside and clipped a few small branches from our holly tree, wrapped a couple of boxes, hung the curly willow branch on the wall with some ornaments ( off our own tree ) and voila!! It took a little time, but I have fun doing it and the effort shows... I hope!

I used the same Spoonflower paper on the dresser to make the Christmas trees.  I  had a little left over and these were easy to make.  I'll also be able to hang on to them and use for another photo down the road.

This dresser is solid wood but in a very distressed condition so instead of covering it completely with paint, I chose to highlight all of the imperfections.  I love how the grain wears through the paper. This aviary paper lends itself to a more vintage look, almost like wallpaper. Knobs from Anthropologie.

Pink is not for everyone, I get it but sometimes it's necessary, like when you have a sweet little girl getting a big girl bed.  The paper was my inspiration and I love the way it turned out.  I see it setting next to a Jenny Lind spindle bed or maybe even an antique iron one.

Happy Wednesday!
