Gray and Gold French Set

This is a custom order I've been working on this week.  I still have to paint the chest of drawers but here are a few photos of the finished dresser and nightstand.

Before and After...sorry for the poor quality photos.  I didn't even bring these in our house to stage.  I'm delivering today!

Grays are so hard to choose...too blue or too green.  I LOVE this one, though.  Paint color is, After the Rain, by Clark Kensington.

Happy Friday to ALL!!!

Teal, Turquoise & Gold Buffet

This is another one of those pieces I passed by week after week.  It was so dirty and neglected looking.  This color combo was holding strong in my head for awhile though and realized, "hello"?? this is the piece for those colors!
They are rich, deep and traditional.  I added the pop of dark orange for the photos because the colors compliment so well.
Honestly, this looks lovely in our own house...hmmmm.

Nobody else wanted this piece but me!  So glad when that happens! What about you, have you ever been in that same situation?

Have a gorgeous day!!

Other Tidbits from The Turquoise Iris

I often post photos on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and forget to post them here on my blog.  I flipped through a few on my phone and decided to share a few today.

The picture to the right is me.  I didn't have anything to paint that day so I played with pictures instead!

The shop where I sell my furniture now, Robinson's Eclectic Marketplace, asked me to submit a description of my business and work for them so this is what I put together. Since writing that, I've been thinking more and more about the direction I'd like to take my business.  I still have so many questions in the air!

The last three images are all pieces I've painted and wanted to give them a little more attention or highlight some of their details. I love seeing the texture and layers of paint up close but it's often hard to capture that through a camera.

The coral cabinet and the metallic round table are currently available!

Enjoy your week!

No, I'm not a giant...I'm wearing 5" wedges!

Thanks for letting me share my projects and as always, I love having all of you support me! I'll be adding this makeover to Furniture Feature Friday!

Perfect for a Princess

This piece belonged to a friend of mine and he offered it to me for helping him move recently.
Nice, right? This is a gorgeous piece, well made and I hope I did it justice, considering it belonged to his grandmother.

I used Annie Sloan chalk paint again in Aubusson Blue.  I also added a little Old White to the blue for the drawer fronts. The top ones are covered in wallpaper.

As usual, these gorgeous peach and brass nobs are from Anthropologie.  They pull a little warmth from the paper and I love how they pull the whole look together.

Hope you enjoy this before and after.  I'm off to add this one to Miss Mustard Seeds Furniture Feature Friday!!
