Mid Century Modern Dresser, Color Blocked and Cool

MCM style dressers are super hard to come by these days! So, when I come across one, I jump at the chance to either paint or re-finish it. I chose to paint this one a gorgeous shade of blue and added the silver for a fun, mod, color block look. Oh my goodness...this one will be hard to let go of...I LOVE it!

I don't have a particular style or furniture design that I love the most.  I tend to fall for pieces that are just pretty...I like pretty.  That's why my home is such an eclectic  mix of old and new, shiny and dull.  I just like pretty:)

 ***BEFORE PHOTO***

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!! The sun has just shown it's cheery face, so I'm headed out!

Celebrating Being Featured with Lindsey from Better After!!!

I get so giddy when this happens, I don't know why for sure??? Maybe it's that someone who makes a living scouring through images of "before & afters" has chosen to feature one of mine?  Yes, that's why...for sure.  This is so cool for me and I cannot tell you guys how much I appreciate this.
Thank you, Lindsey!

Industrial Modern Outdoor Tables

So, this is not my usual post, but my husband has been awfully busy making new tables for our outdoor area off the sun room.  These are just too good not to share.  You may think these are too heavy and hard looking, but we are in Oklahoma and the wind blows fiercely 80% of the time.  Any lightweight furniture blows right off our deck and across our 5 acres of land.  We have already busted 6 chairs...which is why we bought these stackable ones.  These will hide out in the corner when we are not needing them.  Anyway, have a look!

Really wishing the grass was green in these photos...and the Chaste trees were blooming!

The first is the dining table which will easily accommodate 7 adults.  The next one is a side table, love the contrast of raw wood and shiny steel!

Thanks for letting me brag on my guy a little, I think he likes it;)

Turquoise Heavily Distressed Antique Dresser

I certainly understand that this look is not for all, but when I saw this piece, I knew immediately what I wanted to do with it. This antique chest is at least 100 years old and solid wood. My inspiration was to duplicate a piece of stone...real turquoise, not man-made. Turquoise is my personal favorite and it's perfectly flawed...like most of us. I hope you love my interpretation.

The glass knobs were a contribution from my mom...she's good, right?
I am loving all the texture going on in the shot!
 Picture taken from upstairs.

This jewel is for sale here on my Etsy shop,

Here is the before shot...the one on the right.

Tiffany Blue & Teal Vintage French Provincial Triple Dresser / Buffet

I am constantly inspired by certain things of nature, colors, shops...especially Anthropologie..., and textures and patterns. Ask my mother, I look completely silly walking through Anthro, my eyes whisking back and forth and my fingers touching everything. I don't ever want to miss anything!! I never know what will be the source of my motivation, but I wanted this piece to look like something from their catalog used to stage their clothes or home accessories.  I am completely happy with how it tuned out!  Take a look!

I promise I will take a break with this peacock paper, I am almost out of it!!

Teal Vintage Dresser / Chest Accented with a Peacock

This never gets old! The hunting of furniture, searching for just the right color, painting, staging, photographing...all of it. I love what I do everyday...my job rocks!!

I've used this paper before, but this time I also distressed the paper...just enough to take the shine off.  I really love how it looks.  I'm calling it Boho Chic and Anthro inspired.
Here is what it looked like before:/

This petite dresser / chest is now listed for sale on my Etsy shop, The Turquoise Iris.

Thanks,
Dionne
