Hand Painted Mustard Yellow Accent Table Makeover You Don't Want to Miss!

Okay, so it's been awfully dreary and unusually chilly here in Oklahoma lately.  I'm not necessarily complaining but I need some sunshine! Sometimes you have to make it yourself.

"How wonderful yellow is, it stands for the sun".

~ Vincent Van Gogh

See, now that's better.  Yellow is energetic and happy.  I added the teal because, well, they compliment one another so well.  I think this antique wash stand can be used just about anywhere in your home, don't you?

Yep, that's a little metallic paint in there, again, energetic and happy! Look at how that paint just highlights that wonderful wood grain.  I created as much texture as I could possibly get in there.

This piece is available on my Etsy website, The Turquoise Iris. Check out my new shop look, by the way.

This is the image I have pinned on my Pinterest page. I tried to replicate the colors and also the finish.  My goal is to always create a "one of a kind" piece of furniture.  Being original is often scary and I always feel vulnerable every single time I post my furniture makeovers on social media.  I feel so much gratitude for the lovely comments I have received about this series.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Abstract Painted Antique Table

You guys know I love to use bold paper designs o my furniture sometimes.  My husband always asks me when I'm going to free hand an image instead of using paper.  I am no professionally trained in any artistic way but I decided this antique table would be my first guinea pig.  I hand painted the top and then painted the base in the turquoise.  Aside from being sooooo much fun, I think it turned out okay!  Have a look!

I'm not sure I'll try this again for awhile but I'm super proud of myself for giving it my best shot. Thanks in advance for any positive feedback you may have for me.

Happy weekend!

Oh, You Sexy Little Thing!

When the weather gets cold and cranky, I tend to paint less.  These last few weeks have been filled with the marketing of vintage furniture rather than painted pieces.  I love searching for cast offs that can be cleaned up and flipped on my Etsy.com shop, The Turquoise Iris

This little gem here, was once ( see before photo below ) tired and boring.  I didn't have to do much to it all. Then, BAM... it's al sophisticated in this black and white look.  I love how it turned out! Plus, it felt really great to have warm enough weather to get some painting done.

See that round one on the right? It will be next!

Hope you all enjoy your day!!

Teal Vintage Foyer Table

This is a piece I just finished for a sweet friend!
She purchased this at a garage sale and pretty much gave me free range to do what I thought would make it look new again.

Hope she loves it!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Preppy Striped in Three Shades of Green

I am feeling the need to be
super ( more than normal )creative lately!
I found this disgusting little mid century table
the other day  and decided to make it my
newest victim.

shame, shame, shame...

So, I sanded, primed and painted fun stripes
on this little one.
Lovin me some green frog tape!

This delicious color reminds me of the popular cake icing of the 1980's...totally edible!

This table would be perfect in a teen's room or even a baby nursery, or for someone who likes all
things unique and fun.

Enjoy your weekend:)

Emerald Green and Glam Goodness

SOLD
From a new little local thrift store~
Not lovin it, friends. Needs some love.
Now...YES, for sure!
Have a look...

Oh my green goodness! This may need
to stay with me...really. The bold color paired with the
gloss finish and intricate detail of this
piece makes it a real show stopper.
How would you like to see this daily as you walk through your entry?
I think this would be perfect for an entryway table, side / accent table, small dining buffet for serving ware or linens, or even perfect for a small flat screen in your home office or bedroom.

This mini credenza can be purchased

thank you;)

Got Gloss?

I have sanded, primed and painted this beautifully shaped round table in a bright glossy white. I kept the original hardware on the table...
I LOVE the contrast of the old vs new.

Use beside your bed as a lamp table or in your living room next to your sofa or favorite comfy chair. I think this would look great next to a platform rustic bed, contrast is key to great design.

As usual, this table is ready to be purchased

Call It What You May...

Vermilion, Persimmon, Salsa Red, etc.
This color is hot hot hot for this
Fall season!
I had to have me a taste of it!
Here is the table I started with below.
Sorry for the bad phone pic:)

We've seen this great mahogany style table many
times over the years,
but I have yet to see one like this now!

I can see this coffee table paired with a clean lined modern sofa plus two chairs covered in an
ikat or suzani printed fabric.

I l-o-v-e! ;)
This table is available to purchase

"Be Still My Heart" Turquoise and Ikat

This rich glossy shade of turquoise screams,
"Take me to the blue sea"!
Well, that could just be me screaming... Anyway,
I have primed and painted this cabinet, then replaced the pulls with silver, more modern ones.

This piece will blend in to your modern styled home!
Use in your entry, living or loft area.
It's the perfect size for a 27" flat screen tv and 2 shelved inside to house small components.
I could also see this in a child's room stuffed full of little toys,
books or lovies.
