This is Why I Love Vintage Furniture

I always mention I love to create one of a kind pieces of furniture.  I knew right away I would paint this frame but was unsure of what color.  I asked for suggestions on Facebook and Instagram.  I was leaning towards a metallic copper or duck egg blue.  Several followers suggested a shade of blue but I also heard colors like coral, teal, emerald, red and gray.
This yummy camel fabric is in great condition and so soft so I chose to keep it.  I think these two colors suggest a calm relaxing feeling....and, well I just like that feeling.

You may notice I used the rug as my inspiration.

Me with This Amazing Piece of Furniture

I haven't painted a piece like this in awhile. My creative side LOVES to paint this style, though. I realize the look now is more of a clean look without much variation but I think this look is timeless. Paint has always become chipped, worn and aged.

I took so many photos of this piece.  I chose my favorites - hope you enjoy!

Gray & White Hutch with Aviary Paper

I agree, this hutch was beautiful before I painted it. I waited almost 4 months to purchase it from the thrift shop...4 MONTHS!!! Nobody wanted it as is so I'm hoping now someone will want to have it in their home.

These knobs are from Anthropologie, paper from Spoonflower.

This was such a fun piece to work on.  I love all the details...I just tried to highlight all of it.

Happy Friday, Friends!

My Week in Makeovers

At some point, I may get tired of this color. Whether you call it emerald or jade or kelly, I LOVE it!! It especially glows when paired with another jewel tone.

This piece is for sale today on my Etsy shop, The Turquoise Iris.

I see this vintage cabinet in an entryway, foyer or hall but the size will allow it to hangout in any room of your home.

Secondly, I painted this antique desk for a friend.  She has three daughters that will use this as a computer desk.  It is old but solid and I wanted to glam it up a bit for these stylish teens.

Mid Century Indigo Blue Mini Bar

Good morning, friends!

Nothing is better than blue and gold together...really, so chic! I love this solid wood vintage mini bar and the original hardware pops off the indigo paint color. I think this piece lends itself to both a masculine and feminine side, don't you?

It is truly a one of a kind. This was originally made by Penguin Refrigeration from Springer Industries, Long Island, NY.

Other uses for this fella could be a jaw dropping entry or foyer table...or, really anywhere you need to have a little storage.
If interested, yo can purchase this on my Etsy shop,

Emerald Green and Glam Goodness

SOLD
From a new little local thrift store~
Not lovin it, friends. Needs some love.
Now...YES, for sure!
Have a look...

Oh my green goodness! This may need
to stay with me...really. The bold color paired with the
gloss finish and intricate detail of this
piece makes it a real show stopper.
How would you like to see this daily as you walk through your entry?
I think this would be perfect for an entryway table, side / accent table, small dining buffet for serving ware or linens, or even perfect for a small flat screen in your home office or bedroom.

This mini credenza can be purchased

thank you;)
