Ombre' Buffet Makeover in All of My Favorites

So, I forgot to things this week! Both of which, made me so mad:-/
First, I realized two days after my weekly grocery shopping trip that I left the 24 pack of bottled water in the bottom of the cart.  Yep, I guess I left it for someone else to use...grrrr!
Second, I forgot to take a before photo of this buffet. This is not the first time this has happened and will not be the last.  It better be the last time I forget about the water bottles, though!
I was too excited to start painting this piece that I had it finished before I remembered.

These gorgeous knobs are Jadeite and gold and super gorgeous!

I love how this photo shows the colors fading so well. Three of the four are on walls in my own house!

Oklahoma suffered an ice storm 2 weeks ago and my brother in law grabbed me some fallen curly willow branches.  I love using them in photos and in our own home.

This piece is for sale on my Etsy shop, Here.

You guys have yourself a great week!  For now, I'm enjoying this 65 degree weather we are having this week! Woot!

Ombre Hutch in Turquoise & Blue

I don't know why I even bother painting any other colors.  These make my heart sing. I removed the original doors for more versatility. Now this could be used as a book shelf in an office or playroom.

I made a big ugly mess in the garage, used 5 different colors, created a one of a kind piece of furniture and had a blast in the process! That's success in my book.

I've already received so much positive feedback today through social media.  I can't seem to thank you all enough for all the encouragement I receive on a daily basis. I am left feeling so motivated to continue this journey I'm on. This piece is available HERE on my Etsy shop.

Mint Green Ombre' Dresser and Me

It's time for another ombre' piece, my friends!  This time I used a mint green as my base color and had the lightest color fade to dark and then light again.

I've been advised by other online business owners to personalize my work.  Do you think this oughta do it?!?!? Consumers are more likely to shop online if they feel a connection with the artist / owner.  So, here I am again, making a quick appearance.

Happy Friday to all of you!! Make the best of your Memorial Day weekend.

Other Tidbits from The Turquoise Iris

I often post photos on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and forget to post them here on my blog.  I flipped through a few on my phone and decided to share a few today.

The picture to the right is me.  I didn't have anything to paint that day so I played with pictures instead!

The shop where I sell my furniture now, Robinson's Eclectic Marketplace, asked me to submit a description of my business and work for them so this is what I put together. Since writing that, I've been thinking more and more about the direction I'd like to take my business.  I still have so many questions in the air!

The last three images are all pieces I've painted and wanted to give them a little more attention or highlight some of their details. I love seeing the texture and layers of paint up close but it's often hard to capture that through a camera.

The coral cabinet and the metallic round table are currently available!

Enjoy your week!

Ombre in Shades of Blue

I've never attempted an ombre finish before and this week I did two!  I had so much fun mixing 8 different colors to get these 5 I used here on this antique dresser.  I added the blue mercury glass knobs and I think they look like little jewels. Overall, this was one of my most fun pieces to ever paint. Hope you enjoy the "before and after".

My brother in law painted the large Santa painting for me last year.  Isn't it gorgeous?

Here is the dresser before I painted it...

I Had to Give Ombre a Try!

I've been inspired by all the ombre I have been seeing on sights like Anthropologie, so I gave it a shot with these very cool Thonet inspired bentwood chairs!
One green and one turquoise;)
Personally, I am loving it!

Either of these would make a great office or desk chair...better yet, use for a vanity seat!

You may purchase HERE on my Etsy Shop!

Happy Thursday!  Hoping for rain:)
